About us

The crafthouse.

Joinery Crafthouse is a Seattle-based working maker house with resident artisan studios and hands-on classes taught by the makers. We include a curated shop of “stuff made here,” functional art for the home and a a welcoming cafe and gathering space.

It is not a chain concept. It’s a house—built for people, built for craft.

Our Story

Family led and loved.

Joinery a family-led project with deep roots in art, design, language, and technology. After years of building in other worlds, we turned our heads toward building something tangible: a place that supports artists and craftspeople, invites the neighborhood in, and gets better over time.

Joinery started with a simple desire to build a place where craft is visible. Not as nostalgia. Not as trend. As a living practice—working studios, a gallery store of beautiful, useful objects, and a steady rhythm of learning.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Craft deserves a home base.

Great work requires space, tools, rhythm, and a community that takes welcomes it.

Objects should be used.

We’re drawn to functional work—pieces that belong on tables, in hands, and in daily life. Yes, it can be useful and beautiful.

Hospitality supports craft.

Coffee, tea, beer, and wine aren’t the point. They’re the welcome—a way to slow down, look closely, and stay awhile.

Neighborhoods need third places.

Joinery is designed to become a regular place, your hangout. Come watch the artists create their craft, so you can be inspired to learn and create your own.

Join us. Let’s make something together.
